Description:
This activity showed how you can create different kinds of movement or artwork using different materials. We used colors tissue paper for the background and then added construction paper for this main image. The picture doesn't pick up the entirety of the colors that I used, but the black figure is a farmhouse that has a grave road coming up to it from the hills behind it. I then used oil pastels ot show the wind in the background.
Extension Activity:
For an extension activity, we could have the students create a short story about their Van Gogh Collage. What this would consist of would be the students finishing their collage and then writing a short paragraph or two of a story that involves their image. (Example: On a windy day in a small town, the sun was going down and the wind was picking up. We all decided to stay in the house and...)
