Description: For this activity, we had to make a design where half of our design had a nighttime pattern, and the other half had a daytime pattern. This means the students would come up with a pattern that reminds them of nighttime or daytime and repeat that pattern on the corresponding side. We had to split the paper at the corners and in one half we had to have a sun and in the other half, we had to have a moon.
Extension Activity: A fun activity that could go along with this in an elementary classroom would be to have the reading of the story Good Night Moon. I think that this could be a lot of fun for younger to middle grades in an elementary school. It could also be added into a science lesson when talking about nocturnal animals vs. animals that are out in the daytime.
